Netflix Selects Perfect Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

The Secret Organization is geared up to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the next season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.

The platform declared this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, unlike the original manga and anime.

This performer will work alongside a number of recently announced actors who will portray the organization to life, such as chief the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.

Although the role is a important part of the group, the character won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering the next season set to cover the Little Garden segment, this signals a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate further changes to the plot development.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the role. Along with their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10, 2026.
