NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests were the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they essentially defeated themselves having led 17-3 entering the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it proved good to observe that Denver's QB the rookie managed to have the shortfall before direct three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always rushing more than four defenders instead they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended last season well and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up big and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver are a team aiming to run first, since you can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, which is different, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, and finding different arm angles to make throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and forces the defence to stay on the field for longer, and if you have a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really build something up how he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
