Former Physician Faces Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.

Details of the Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Charges

The charging documents said the forty-five charges comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.
