Fans Urge Detainment of Individual Who Grabbed Ariana Grande
Devoted supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who leaped a barricade and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or deported from Singapore.
A viral video reveals the Australian man bypassing photographers and lunging at Grande while the cast walked down a promenade flanked by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being escorted out of the gathering by event staff.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though court documents showed that he was scheduled to be present on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
Record of Disruptions
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a celebrity gathering. His Instagram account contains clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last winter.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user remarked.
Supporters Voice Worry Over Grande's Past Trauma
Numerous followers criticized Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming hundreds.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more response on Instagram.
Some fans also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being sufficiently alert; while different individuals called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's uploads.
Response and Premiere Information
In footage spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was grabbed by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by guards.
Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Numerous of attendees had assembled in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore venue, including some who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.
The motion picture, to be premiered on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film adaptation of the popular theatrical production Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected bond between two very different sorceresses.
The musical itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a rosé glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.
They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten Oscar nominations, securing two for best costume and production design.
