The United Kingdom is ready to advance with utilizing the total value of immobilized Russian funds to support Ukraine's war effort, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a collective announcement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany asserted that this unified step would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the decision would be carried out in tight collaboration with the United States.

British restrictions have frozen over £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia initiated its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, until now, resources sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had exclusively been taken from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir informed President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their aim to push forward toward using the full value of the seized Russian sovereign funds to end the war.

He added that additional sanctions over the next period would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after European representatives met in the Danish capital last week to discuss employing seized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion credit to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize frozen Russia's assets, as reported by media sources.

The value of seized Russian holdings in the European Union is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Russia carried out extensive aerial attacks all over Ukraine on recently, leading to power cuts in many areas of the capital city, Kyiv, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were fatally injured and no fewer than 20 people were hurt in the strike, authorities in Ukraine stated.

In a update on social media after the incident, Zelensky commented that the premeditated assault targeted non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not mere statements but concrete steps - from the America, EU, and the seven nations - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he stated.

"Every sanction decision undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the PURL scheme, under which alliance members acquire weapons from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the program, as well as impose more sanctions on Moscow.
